Eltham Park staff undergo continuing professional development
Every member of our staff has to undergo regular training to keep their CPD (Continuing Professional Development) up to date. Earlier this year the whole practice had a training session on new Cross Infection Control techniques and in July we had a refresher course in Resuscitation and First Aid.

We were delighted to have Sam from Peak Skills to take the course for us once again. She originally worked as a nurse in intensive care and has branched out into training specialist groups like ourselves.
This course is always useful as it is taught in a light hearted way but with real benefits to all staff both at work and social life. Everybody gets something from this couse and we all can have a fun time in the learning.
Cool news
All of our first floor surgeries are now air conditioned
. We hope this doesn't mean that Summer will be cancelled!
Dental Amalgum Debate
There have been many reports on TV and in the media about the safety of Dental Amalgum. The point that is often missed is that although poisonous, Mercury is held in a chemical compound and does not easily leak out. There are many examples of dangerous compounds, one which we are all familiar is made of the toxic gas Chlorine and the highly reactive metal, Sodium. Put together they make salt. A harmeless blend of two "poisons". To give a sense of reality and balance needs to the argument we have given you access to unbiased information about Dental Amalgum. Click here for the full story.
Parking
We have finished the front of the practice which has received complements from all who have seen it. The idea is to make it easier to maintain with illumination for the darker winter nights and a space for a disabled patients parking bay.
We often hear that parking is difficult around the practice. The new sports centre and parking restrictions near the high street have meant that the parking has become more difficult in the area. The plus point however is that in the roads nearer the high street, parking meters are not expensive and seldom busy.
Affiliations We are pleased to have been chosen by Charlton Athletic Football Club to provide Dental Treatment for their players and staff. We wish them every success in the current season.
